RRR Movie Oscars-award-2023

RRR Movie

The song Naatu Naatu from the Telugu-language film RRR has become the first Indian film song to win an Oscar. The song won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, beating Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Its catchy tempo and choreography have captivated audiences worldwide. The film RRR is a historical fantasy that tells the story of two revolutionaries fighting against British rule in India. The movie's director, SS Rajamouli, envisioned Naatu Naatu as a "fight scene" in which two freedom fighters bring a British officer to his knees - through dance. The film features the lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR performing energetic dance moves. The lively choreography has inspired several Instagram reels and dance trends on social media.

Naatu Naatu’, a song from S.S. Rajamouli’s film RRR, won the Oscar for the Best Original Song. The song was composed by M.M. Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

Many Indians have taken to Twitter to express their happiness about the song's win.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come.”
“India is elated and proud,” Modi added.

"That's the most beautiful part of the Oscars - people from all over the world coming together, representing their own culture and their own art forms and being appreciated by people from other countries and communities," he said.
At the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday night, “Naatu Naatu” – composed by M.M. Keeravani and featuring lyrics by Chandrabose – beat both Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” and Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Accepting the award, Keeravani said: “I grew up listening to The Carpenters and now here I am with the Oscars,” before going on to sing his speech to the tune of “Top of the World” by The Carpenters. Chandrabose simply added: “Namaste.”
